Family Fun Day Part 3

OK, so it is not really the same day. But I felt so bad that Belle didn't get to go anyplace with us on Friday, that we took her to the dog park on Saturday. Here is Belle enjoying her fun day!

Family Fun Day Part 2 -- Top o' the evening to you!

On Friday evening after Charlie's nap, we headed across town to Clement Park. We spent the evening at the Irish Festival with our friends Jerdie, Eden & Maureen. We had lots of fun eating, drinking, shopping and listening to Irish music.

Family Fun Day Part 1

On Friday, Doug and I loaded up Alex and Charlie to head out to the Children's Museum. While we were getting everybody settled, Belle jumped in the car and wouldn't get out. She wanted to go play too! We coaxed her out of the car and off we went!
We had a lot of fun at the Children's Museum, the kids played on a real fire truck, played basketball, put together a train track, explored animal habitats, went grocery shopping, played restaurant, and helped fix injured animals as vets (or in Alex's case, I think he was the vet's assistant.)
We ended the morning at Noodles & Co so Charlie could have his favorite meal, Mac & Cheese!!

Happy Birthday!

On Sunday, Nana, Papa, Aunt Lisa & Cousin Jesse came over to celebrate Lisa, Jesse & my birthdays. I won't tell you how old Lisa & I are, but this is Jesse's 18th birthday.
She is the one giving herself her own birthday spanking in the pictures!

MOOSE!!!

We went camping over 4th of July weekend at one of our favorite spots, Meadow Creek Reservoir. We were joined by Doug's sister Lisa, our niece Jesse, our friends Jerdie, Eden and Farren. (and four dogs, our Belle, Murphy, Fallon and Sullivan, Jerdie & Eden's dogs.)

We ate yummy food, fished, hiked, explored and got to see some great wildlife!

My mom called me right before we left, concerned about Charlie being able to poop in the woods. Some kids (and adults) have problems moving their bowels in the great outdoors. After thinking about it, I decided not to bring a potty chair and just try my luck. Worse case scenario - there is an outhouse about 5mins down the road. We stop at our campsite and the first words out of Charlie's mouth are "me gotta poop!" Yikes! So I start to explain to Charlie "when we are camping we poop in the woods". I barely got the words out of my mouth when Charlie started to pull his pants down!!! I quickly told him we had to go away from our campsite, so off we headed to the woods. He pooped like a bear in the woods -- no problem! WHEW!!!

The next afternoon, after lunch, Doug and I decided to put Charlie down for a nap. Jerdie, Eden & Farren wanted to go fishing, so they asked us to watch Sullivan and Murphy. No problem! So Doug, me, Charlie, Belle, Murphy and Sullivan climbed in the camped for a nap. Well, Murphy cried and tried to get out. Sullivan just wanted to be in the middle of everything, and Charlie was bouncing off the walls with the dogs. No chance of a nap!! Doug got up with Charlie and they headed up to go potty. I got up, let the dogs out and went to get the tie outs for Sullivan & Murphy. While I was trying to find the tie outs, Sullivan and Murphy took of down the road. It was quite a sight -- big, fat pregnant me, chasing those crazy dogs down the road. Murphy finally came back, so I tied him up and set out in the Jeep to find Sullivan. While I was chasing Sullivan, I found a road we didn't know about. The whole time I was looking for Sullivan, I kept thinking to myself how was I going to tell Jerdie and Eden I lost their dog. Sullivan eventually came back and all was well.

Later that afternoon, Charlie wanted to go for a drive, so we decided to explore the new road I found. We discovered a wonderful new place to camp, over looking the reservoir. We can't wait to go back now!!! We also saw moose on the drive, he is the one in the pictures below. It was an amazing animal, we were so lucky to see him so close up.

The next morning, while we were drinking our coffee, we saw two moose in the clearing across from our camp. Unfortunately, the battery was dead on my camera.

Here are some awesome pictures from the trip.

Happy Days!

Last week was busy, but I have very few photos to show for it!!

I finished my Accounting class with a B. I am disappointed in my grade, as I missed an A due to a stupid mistake on my part. I started my Business Development class which is an online class. I was concerned about not getting the connection with my classmates, I had in a regular class. But I have already connected with a couple of people in my class, one of them, has the same educational and career background that I have. It looks like there is a lot more time involved in an online class. I am going to have to be very diligent in spending time everyday on school work.

I am almost 1/2 way through this pregnancy which makes me very excited. Every now and then I feel her moving around. My headaches are getting better. Instead of every day, I am only have them about once a week or so.

I am looking into going back to work after the baby is born, so I have been busy researching child care options. It has become a little frustrating as many places I am interested in, don't have part-time infant care. We only need child care/pre-school Mon - Weds. Charlie will start pre-school this fall, I am a bit of a nervous mom. I wonder if he will do OK.

Last weekend my family came over and help us move sprinklers, clean flower beds and lay sod as a birthday gift to me. It was very nice of them and I finally feel like my backyard is coming together. When we bought our house, the backyard had been neglected for years. It contained more weeds than anything else. So this was a wonderful present and a great blessing for me!!!

Here are some pictures of Charlie helping Doug fix the screen door. In these pictures, he reminds me of his grandpa Paul!
